A Brief Introduction of College of Adult Education,
Shandong University of Science and Technology
The College of Adult Education (CAE) of SUST is located in No.44 Wenhua Road, Taian city, and started in 1962. It is the monopolized organization to manage the adult education for university, which has 14 management sections, 54 staff members. CAE currently enrolls 30,000 part-time students and 1500 full-time students.
CAE always insists on the policy of serving for economic construction and social development, and persist in the tenet of serving for adult, the enrollment includes power, petroleum, chemical, finance and revenue area, and advances engineering master degree area, development and innovation, it has already formed the multi-standard, multi-layer and diversification teaching system of postgraduate, graduate, upgrading from junior college to university student, secondary diploma, amateur, full-time, self-study examination courses, etc.. CAE has 52 correspondence stations in China, with a total of 36 specialties for undergraduates and 53 specialties for junior college students, as well as holds professional qualification certificate education, such as certificated public architect, statistic analytical technician, the interflow of goods and materials management engineer, property manager, computer IT engineer, and marketing manager, etc.. CAE has already trained ten thousand persons, and achieved a good social and economic benefit. Especially the management system has been reformed since 1999; CAE develops its running school thought: making decision through market, strategy of development through scale, strategy of brand effect through quality, enhancing levels, widening fields, and strengthening joint cooperation, advancing benefit. The college was chosen as an excellent unit of correspondence education in running a school by Shandong province in 2005. CAE has kept high speed and great-leap-forward development, and has become the first level on adult education in Shandong province and China.

LIU Weiguo, dean of the Adult Education College since 1999, Researcher, master postgraduate student tutor. In 1976, he worked as a teacher in SDUST after graduation from the university. He has worked in Mechanical and Electricity Department, Educational Administration Section, and Adult Education College, and has worked as section chief, vice-dean.
